150 young talents in 2022 lead the world in football
- 4Dinka sports Rome 🏐

50 Bruno Iglesias | Barcelona and Spain
Real Madrid’s academy is full of gems, but nobody shines more now than midfielder Bruno Iglesias.
The 18-year-old, who has been likened to Kaká at La Fabrica, has already crossed the 10-goal mark in scoring and industry for Real Madrid’s Under-19 team this season.
Iglesias is now set to make his first-team debut sometime in 2022, although Manchester City and Arsenal are monitoring his progress in hopes of losing his way to the first team.
49 Indrik | Palmeiras and Brazil
Since Neymar’s debut in 2008, no player at such a young age has been able to excite Brazilian football fans as Palmeiras striker Andric.
The 15-year-old, described by those who coached him as a “force of nature”, has already trained with Palmeiras’ first team after leading them to the Copaina de São Paulo title, the most important junior tournament in Brazil.
Indrik scored six goals in seven matches during the prestigious under-20 tournament and is now a target for clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City, among others, amid claims the striker is already worth at least €45m.
48 Marcelo Flores | Arsenal and Mexico
Despite breaking into the Arsenal U-23 team a short time ago, Marcelo Flores made a lot of headlines in Mexico.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is already an international, making his debut for Mexico in December, and there are hopes he can be in Gerardo Martino’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Back in north London, Flores has already told GOAL about his dream of becoming an Arsenal ‘legend’, and his ability to play and acrobatic will likely make him a fan favorite once he breaks into the first team.
47 Ronnie Bridgji | Copenhagen and Sweden
Ronnie Berdajji became the youngest goalscorer in Danish league history with a 25-yard shot on his second appearance in November 2021, stunningly explaining why he was dubbed the “Swede Messi”.
The 16-year-old striker, who is also Copenhagen’s youngest ever player, has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs for a number of years and is expected to move from one of the top clubs over the next year.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea are among those interested in Rooney, and it is likely that an eight-figure sum will be required to sign him.
46 Gabriel Slonina | Chicago Fire and the United States
The United States has a strong tradition of producing excellent goalkeepers, and there is a chance Gabriel Slonina will be the best yet.
The Chicago Fire teenager is already the youngest player to keep a clean sheet in Major League Soccer history, with his performances earning him multiple call-ups to the Greg Berhalter National Team.
Slonina, 17, has been linked to several clubs such as Manchester United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, and has been compared to goalkeepers such as Jan Oblak, Gianluigi Buffon and Manuel Neuer since his professional debut in August.
45 Lucas Journa | Saint-Etienne, France
Académie Saint-Etienne has produced players the likes of Alain Saint-Maximan, Wesley Fofana and William Saliba in recent years, and it looks like their impressive productions will continue with Lucas Journa.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been dubbed the ‘new Paul Pogba’ by some, although in fact he has a more defensive mentality than the Manchester United star, who – like Journa – spent some of his teenage years at Torcy, a club famous for developing Young.
Despite the differences on the pitch, it seems likely that Journa will join Pogba as Europe’s top superstar at some point, with PSG and Chelsea among those watching his progress during his Ligue 1 debut.
44 Chula Shuretter | Manchester United and England
Being the youngest player to appear in Europe’s competition with Manchester United is an achievement given their illustrious history of bringing in academic talent, but it is the record that Shula Schreiter managed to break when he debuted for the club in February 2021.
The striker, who is more comfortable playing on the flanks, has been touted as a future star for Old Trafford since joining the Under-19 side at the age of 14.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all made efforts to secure the 18-year-old Schreiter before he signs his first professional contract at United, and he is likely to gain more first-team opportunities when the club appoints their new permanent coach next summer.
43 Mateus France | flamingo and brazil
Reports in January claimed that Manchester City were prepared to offer a “truck load” of money to sign Flamengo midfielder Matthews France in the coming months, and it’s easy to see why.
Franca, 17, made his Flamengo debut at the end of the 2021 season after a busy year in the youth ranks, and is expected to emerge as a rising star in the Brazilian game over the next few years.
Real Madrid have also shown an interest in signing him, although his €100m buyout clause, which was put into the new five-year contract signed in early 2022, makes any team interested in his services hold off, at least for the time being.
42 Edward Michaux | Paris Saint-Germain and France
Dubbed the ‘new Marco Verratti’ by some within PSG’s academy, Edouard Michaux’s passing ability is among the best in Europe for players of his age.
The 19-year-old is starting to make an impact on the star-studded first-team at Princes’ Garden as well, although there are concerns that his lack of regular first-team appearances could lead to a move elsewhere.
Both Barcelona and Manchester City have tried to sign Micho in the past, which underscores how much Europe’s top scouts value him.
41 Brian Okoh | Salzburg and Switzerland
Although Red Bull Salzburg have gained a reputation for developing some of the best young strikers in the world over the past few years, they also have some potential stars at the other end of the field.
Brian Okoh is proof of that, as the 18-year-old is seen as having the potential to become an elite center back as he continues to learn with the Austrian champions.
Okoh made his first-team debut in September, and despite suffering a serious knee injury just days after receiving his first call-up to the Swiss national team and the end of his season, he has the talent to find his way into the regular starting line-up at Salzburg during the 2022-23 season.
40 Kayde Gordon | Liverpool and England
Jurgen Klopp doesn’t use the phrase ‘outstanding talent’ to describe anyone passing by, so it’s clear that Liverpool striker Cade Gordon has something special.
Liverpool secured his services for €3.5m in January 2021, and the 17-year-old is already the Reds’ second youngest scorer, with his proven performances since breaking into the first team where the striker’s inexperience is not preferred.
“He can do anything with the ball,” Gordon’s former coaches at Derby told GOAL in the summer of 2021, and it looks like he’s ready to display his impressive skill set at Anfield for years to come.
39 Valentine Barco | Boca Juniors and Argentina
When conjuring up the image of a great Argentine footballer, red-haired left-backs don’t usually come to mind, but Valentin Barco seeks to change perceptions.
Only three players participated with Boca Juniors at a younger age than the 17-year-old, who was discovered by the same scout who discovered Carlos Tevez and Juan Roman Riquelme.
Manchester City are now said to be watching Barco’s progress closely, with the winger being as much a threat in the attacking third as he is defensive power.
38 _ Stuttgart and Denmark
“The new Zlatan Ibrahimovic” is a title that many players have struggled to obtain in the past years, but Waheed Fajir hopes to win it.
The 18-year-old has always been compared to the Swedish star, due to his physical strength and ability to finish attacks during his time at Danish club Philae.
In the summer of 2021, Feger, who is one of the Denmark under-21 players, moved to the German ranks of Stuttgart for four million euros, and he is still continuing his career with him.
37 Carne Chokwimica | Aston Villa and England
In March 2020, Christian Purslow claimed; Aston Villa’s chief executive says his club has “the best 16-year-old in England”, speaking of Karne Chukwuemeka.
And now the midfielder is confirming these allegations, with his impressive performances in the Premier League.
Carney’s brilliance has prompted Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Liverpool to consider signing the 18-year-old, who has been likened to Paul Pogba and Dele Alli, but he is still learning under one of the best midfielders of the past 20 years, Steven Gerrard.
36 Rocco Simic | Salzburg and Croatia
There is no slowdown in the transfer of attacking talent at Red Bull Salzburg, as Rokko Simic is one of the latest strikers to appear in the first team of the Austrian champions.
The son of Croatian legend Dario Simic, 18, joined Salzburg in the summer of 2021 for four million euros, after he became the youngest scorer in the history of Lokomotiva Zagreb last season.
Since then, Simic, who has been likened to Erling Haaland and Dusan Vlahovic, signed a four-year contract with Salzburg, after he managed to break into the starting line-up, and it was rumored at the time that Real Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham were following him.
35 Alejandro Balde | Barcelona and Spain
The process of building a new team for Barcelona in the post-Lionel Messi era is expected to be a long process, but if talents such as left-back Alejandro Balde continue to emerge, the process could be done much faster.
The 18-year-old had already appeared for the first time with the Blaugrana after his brilliance in the pre-season, and many in Catalonia consider him to be Jordi Alba’s long-term successor.
But for my country to reach this level, he must avoid the injuries that have plagued him during his short career thus far, and if he can, he will have all the factors of success at Camp Nou.
34 Adam Karabic | Sparta Prague and the Czech Republic
Football in the Czech Republic appears to be on its way back to the scene with the emergence of Adam Karabic, one of the talented young players who has made his mark in the country’s first division.
Over the past two years, the 18-year-old has been part of the Sparta Prague first team, and is the third youngest goalscorer in the club’s history.
As the best midfielder to appear in the Czech Republic since Tomas Rosicky, his name has already been linked to a number of clubs in the Italian and French leagues.
33 Isaac Bergmann Johansson | Copenhagen and Iceland
In 2020, Swedish club Norrköping had to shun Johansson’s scouts from some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs, who was putting on a thrilling performance.
Despite the interest of clubs the size of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Juventus, it was Copenhagen that won the last 18-year-old in the summer of 2021, paying about 4.5 million euros to the son of Joey Gudjohnson; The former midfielder in the English and Spanish leagues.
At the time, Johansson was a truly international player and has continued to excel in his passing and intelligence since moving to the Danish capital, so it shouldn’t take long for the teams in Europe’s top five leagues to win him over.
32 Levi Colwell | Huddersfield (Chelsea) and England
Nicknamed “The New John Terry” while making his way through the Chelsea academy, he reached this status during his first season.
The 19-year-old is considered one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League, after he performed admirably with loaned Huddersfield Town, in light of his abilities that made him an ideal modern defender.
He is expected to be promoted to Thomas Tuchel’s first team when the young England international returns to Stamford Bridge at the start of the 2022-23 season.
31 Nasi Onufar | Ajax and the Netherlands
Nasi Onufar has been predicted to reach the top since he won the domestic title with Ajax U19 team at the age of 15, and the player is currently continuing in the same vein.
The 18-year-old became, in January 2020, the youngest player in the history of Ajax to score on his debut, and although it is difficult to get more chances in the first team of Ajax, there is great conviction in him in Amsterdam.
Onuvar, who was a target for Barcelona and Manchester United at one point, is currently starring for Dutch second-division side Ajax, in a bid to attract the attention of Erik ten Hag.
30 kaiki | Santos and Brazil
In the country of “Jojo Bonito”, where the kingdom of offensive ball is, Kaiki appears; The central defender is expected to be one of the most exciting players in Brazil.
The 18-year-old has become a mainstay in Santos’ defense over the past 12 months, with some even comparing him to current Seleção star Marquinhos.
Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus have taken an interest in Kiki, which prompted his club to put a €70m (£60m/$80m) release clause in his contract.
29 Andreas Schieldrop | Nordschiland and Norway
The Norwegians are hoping Andreas Scheldrup will follow in the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, the Norwegian duo who are now among the stars of Europe.
After the 17-year-old was put to the test in Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Juventus, Nordschiland won him, becoming a mainstay in the first team.
Many have compared him to Eden Hazard and Jack Grealish, but Schildrup wants to follow in the footsteps of Andres Iniesta.
GOAL
28 Charlie Patino | Arsenal and England
‘Best player to have walked through the gates of Hill End’ was how Patino was described, and the excitement around him continued after joining Arsenal.
The 18-year-old offered a glimpse of his talent to the Gunners fans, after scoring a goal in his first appearance with the team last December.
Barcelona have previously been interested in signing Patino, but he is expected to be a key player in Mikel Arteta’s squad for the next 12-18 months.
27 Xavi Simmons | Paris Saint-Germain and France
After Xavi’s skill caused a sensation on social media while he was at the La Masia Academy in Barcelona, questions followed him about whether he would succeed in translating his undisputed talent into a high-level professional form.
The 18-year-old made a slow start with Paris Saint-Germain, who joined him in 2019, but he returned to the picture again this season, as he played the championship role in the European Youth League, to impose himself on Mauricio Pochettino’s plan.
Despite the competition for a chance, the young Dutch international played regularly for minutes in the early months of 2022, but may leave Parc des Princes next summer, when his contract expires.
26 Malo Gusto | Lyon and France
Lyon has one of the best football academies in Europe, and Malo Gusto’s first-team career is further proof of that.
The 18-year-old became the youngest defender to start a Ligue 1 match since Samuel Umtiti in 2012 and has held his place in coach Peter Bosz’s squad since then.
Gusto is currently one of the best young defenders in the world, especially for his ability to move forward to support attack, and he possessed that ability due to his early career as a playmaker.
25 kaiki | Manchester City and Brazil
In recent years, Manchester City used to kidnap emerging talents from South America, and Kiki is the most awaited deal from Brazil since signing Gabriel Jesus.
City kidnapped the 18-year-old striker from Fluminense in the summer of 2021, after he caught the eye with the first team and won the nickname “Left-Foot Neymar”.
City will be required to pay a sum of up to 21.5 million pounds if Kaique achieves specific targets agreed in his transfer contract, the player has already made his first game under Pep Guardiola in the FA Cup.
24 Caden Clark | New York Red Bulls and America
Caden Clarke has grabbed the attention of the MLS with his three goals in his first eight matches in the tournament, and the attacking midfielder is currently aiming for success in Europe.
The 18-year-old, who trained at Barcelona’s academy in Arizona as a youth, won a call-up to the US national team at the end of his brilliant season with the New York Red Bulls in 2021.
His excellent performance led him to move to Red Bull Leipzig, but he was later loaned to the New York Red Bulls until at least the end of the 2022 season of the MLS.
23 Liam Delap | Manchester City and England
Manchester City’s lack of a true 9-player has become common knowledge, but the solution to that problem could be found in the team’s own academy in the form of Liam Dilap.
The 19-year-old, son of former Premier League midfielder Rory Dilap, broke the record for the number of goals in one season of the second English Premier League by scoring 24 goals in 20 games with the Manchester City under-23 team.
Dilap also scored in his first game for the first team, and although injuries have hampered his development this season, he is still seen as one of the rising talents at the Etihad Stadium.
22 Hannibal al-Majbri | Manchester United and Tunisia
Manchester United are looking to rebuild their midfield over the coming months, and Hannibal Al-Majbri has a tremendous opportunity to impose himself on the decision-makers at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old, who joined United from Monaco in the summer of 2019 for 4.5 million pounds after being linked to several big European clubs, has impressed everyone at all levels of the club, and is currently one of the key elements in the first team.
Hannibal, who excels at dribbling and passing, has also become a key player in Tunisia’s national team over the past year and played an important role in reaching the 2021 Arab Cup final.
21 Felix Avena Jian | Rome and Ghana
Felix Avena Gyan appeared in the picture to Italian football fans in October 2021, when he scored two goals against Genoa to win 800 euros worth of shoes from coach Jose Mourinho.
The 19-year-old striker, who joined Roma in January 2021 from Ghana as a player not well known in his country, possesses so many individual skills and dribbling ability that makes him a nightmare for defenders.
A natural talent and his smooth entry into the Serie A year suggest his ability to build a strong name for himself at the top of European football.
GOAL
20 Romeo Lavia | Manchester City and Belgium
Defending midfielder, Romeo Lafia, was destined to play for Manchester City from the first day Pep Guardiola saw him playing football at his 14th during a friendly tournament organized by Kevin De Bruyne in Dongen.
The 18-year-old finally signed for the English club from Anderlecht in the summer of 2020, after he surpassed a number of top Europeans who tried to sign him.
Lafia has been able to play in the first team since he arrived at City, and he made his first match with the team in September, and it is likely that he will be Rodri’s replacement in the team after Fernandinho’s departure from the Etihad Stadium.
19 Kasper Kozlovsky | Brighton “on loan to Union” and Poland
Kasfer Kozlowski is expected to carry the Polish flag in the coming years, having already become a key player in the national team during the past year, as well as becoming the youngest player to participate in the European Nations Cup finals in its history.
The 18-year-old midfielder, known for his passing and dribbling ability, has made an impressive recovery from a difficult car crash in January 2020 that put him out of action for 6 months.
Brighton paid £8m to sign the player who was the third youngest player in his history when he made his Polish debut. The English club bought him from Pogo Chesney in January before loaning him to the Belgian club Union until the end of the season.
18 Elias Akhomach | Barcelona and Spain
“We already have the new Leo Messi in La Masia,” former Barcelona star Patrick Kluivert claimed in 2019, putting
There is a lot of pressure on Elias Akhomach, which few players can handle well.
With this, the 17-year-old continued to shine in Catalonia, making his first game for Barcelona under Xavi in November.
Elias, who is able to play as a periphery striker and possesses speed and skill, especially in individual matches, had refused Real Madrid to join Barcelona in 2017, and it seems that it is a decision that will bear fruit for the Blaugrana.
17 Elash Moriba | Leipzig and Guinea
Dubbed the “new Paul Pogba”, especially as he comes from Barcelona’s youth, Eilat Moriba has long been ranked as one of the most prominent stars in the European football sky.
The 19-year-old did not disappoint when he was promoted to Barcelona’s first team during the second half of the 2020-2021 season, but was sadly sold to RB Leipzig for €16m in August after a dispute over his contract at Camp Nou.
Elash faced greater difficulties in getting his chance in the Bundesliga, and he returned to Spain by joining on loan to Valencia last January after his brilliance with Guinea at the African Nations Cup.
16 Muhammad Ali Chu | Angers and France
Angers may not be France’s most elegant club, but with Mohamed Ali Chou he has one of the best rising talents in the French league.
The 18-year-old, who spent part of his career at the academies of Paris Saint-Germain and Everton before joining Angers at the start of 2020, has won a huge number of fans thanks to his strong runs and ability to play in all positions of attack.
It is currently reported that Borussia Dortmund is ready to pay 20 million euros to sign former England youth player Cho, especially after he participated in several matches with the France under-21 team.
15 Lucas Nitze | Borussia Monchengladbach and Germany
Although the Bundesliga gives young talents more opportunities than others to emerge, the presence of a teenage left defender as a primary in one of the Bundesliga clubs remains unusual and evidence of his great talent.
The 18-year-old is a product of Hertha Berlin’s youth sector, and in February 2021 he became the second youngest player in the club’s history to score in the Bundesliga.
The club could not keep Nitze, and despite Bayern Munich’s great interest, he moved to Borussia Moenchengladbach, who paid 4 million euros to make the young defender part of coach Adi Hutter’s squad.
14 Marcus Leonardo | Santos and Brazil
Although Neymar, Gabigol and Rodrygo all came from the Santos academy to become the stars of the Brazilian national team, they did not manage to score as many goals as young players like Marcos Leonardo.
The 18-year-old scored more than 100 goals for Santos’ youth teams, before making his first-team debut in August 2020, and the number nine became a regular for Santos, after Caio Jorge was sold to Juventus.
It is likely that we will see Leonardo in Europe soon, after a great start to 2022 for the Brazilian star, although the release clause in his contract amounted to 100 million euros, but if Santos gets a good financial return, we may see him in Europe.
GOAL
13 Yusuf Demir | Rapid Vienna and Austria
After his loan was cut short by Barcelona officials last January, it is easy to describe Demir’s time at Barcelona as a failure, but the young winger showed enough at Camp Nou, before the Spanish club decided to cut the loan and return to his team again.
The 18-year-old, dubbed the “Austrian Messi” in his country, was abandoned by Barcelona after deciding that paying 10 million euros to get his services permanently next summer could be used better and elsewhere, so he returned to Rapid Vienna.
However, the Barcelona experience was very useful for Youssef Demir, as there is interest on the part of clubs in Germany and England in the Austrian player, and we may see him in one of these teams next summer?
12 Matthias Soleil | Juventus and Argentina
The young striker, who came out of Argentina, is not compared with Lionel Messi, because he evokes the memories of his compatriot Angel Di Maria, because of his light build and his ability to break into and threaten the goal from large areas.
The 18-year-old joined Juventus in January 2020, coming from the Argentine club, Atlético Velez Sarsfield, and starred with the Italian team to become the star of his team’s youth over the past season, to appear for the first time with the first team last November.
This came weeks after Sule received his first call-up to Argentina’s first list, and although his current presence in the Argentine national team seems a little far away, everyone is optimistic that he will become the future star in the Copa America.
11 –
Our panel placed Arsene Zakharian 11th on this year’s pick before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This list celebrates the best young talents in the world, and Arsene is one of them and we hope he has a bright future.
However, in line with the decisions of “FIFA” and “UEFA” to ban Russian teams at the club and national level, we do not want to support the team that Zakharian plays with, and that is why we decided to leave the 11th place empty.
10 Ricardo Pepe | Augsburg and the United States of America
There is no doubt that the current generation of USA players has the potential to take the national team to new heights in the coming years, and Ricardo Pepe is likely to be a key figure in that promotion.
The 19-year-old became the youngest player to score 3 goals in a single MLS game in 2021, in the season in which he managed to score 13 goals in his first full season with FC Dallas.
He also started his international career, scoring 2 goals and assisting 3 goals in his first two matches with the United States national team.
In this way, it is expected that Pepe will be the captain of Greg Berhalter’s team in the 2022 World Cup that will be held in Qatar, while he moved last January to Augsburg, Germany.
Augsburg paid a large sum for Pepe, amounting to 17.5 million euros, making it the second most expensive sale in MLS history, after Alphonso Davies moved from Vancouver Whitecaps to Bayern Munich.
Now there is a burden on the shoulders of teenager Pepe, who is likened by some to Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, given his size and ability to finish, to prove that he can live up to that price in Europe.
9 Benjamin Sisco | Salzburg and Slovenia
“My teammates told me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed, most of them even told me I’m better than him!”
Cisco deserves it in Red Bull Salzburg’s dressing room, but so far “little Haaland” shows why he is considered one of the best teenage strikers on the planet.
The 18-year-old reached double figures for his direct contributions to goals during his first season with Salzburg’s first team, as he also scored a goal for Slovenia, who became the youngest player ever.
Benjamin is able to match his height and power at breakneck speed, with a top speed of 36.1 km/h, largely matching that of Kylian Mbappe.
Cisco is distinguished from other young players with the number 9, by his desire to slip into the midfield and help build attacks, rather than just finishing them.
This mastered ability has the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Tottenham closely watching Cisco’s progress, and Manchester City, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have also previously shown interest in acquiring him.
8 Youssoufa Mokoko | Borussia Dortmund and Germany
Youssoufa Mukoko has become the youngest player and scorer in the history of the Bundesliga, as well as a potential star of world football, since he made the headlines 5 years ago.
At just 12 years old, Mukoko scored almost two goals in every match for Borussia Dortmund’s U-15 team, which made him a rare talent.
The 17-year-old continued his record of goals outside this year throughout his youth career, scoring more than 140 goals in less than 3 and a half seasons, before celebrating his 16th birthday, making his professional debut.
Mokoko ended his first season with the first team with three goals in his name, but the presence of Erling Haaland, in addition to suffering some bad injuries, caused him to not appear significantly in the 2021-2022 season.
However, Mukoko has made an impact at international level, scoring 3 goals in his first two matches for Germany’s Under-21 national team, hoping to one day be part of the senior squad at a major tournament.
For the time being, his focus remains on making his mark in Dortmund, especially if Haaland leaves next summer “as expected”.
7 Devin Wrench | Ajax and the Netherlands
Ajax never tires of producing top-tier talent, with Devin Rench the latest to graduate to both the Amsterdam first team and the Dutch national team.
The 19-year-old has played in a variety of positions during his academic career, including full-back, central defender and central defensive position.
Reinsch has settled at right-back since joining the first team led by Erik ten Hag at the Johan Cruyff Arena, although he is expected to eventually be transferred to the central defence.
Described as a “real Ajax defender”, due to his ability to possess, Wrench’s rise was relatively rapid, given that he was not revealed by a professional club until the age of 13.
But after there was a desire from PSV Eindhoven to include him after his impressive level, Ajax relied on him, and the player actually succeeded in lifting the Abdelhak Nouri Cup, after he was voted as the best player in the club’s academy.
Devin Wrench has been linked with both Barcelona and Juventus earlier, and it is likely that he will eventually join Ajax’s local talent roster and thus be one of the best players in Europe for the coming years.
6 Rayan Sharqi | Lyon and France
Rayan Cherki has always been described as the greatest talent in Lyon’s academy throughout history, a strong claim because it is the club where Karim Benzema learned the craft.
There is no doubt, however, that the 18-year-old playmaker has a formidable ability when the ball is at his feet, which has prompted Real Madrid to take a look at him in recent years.
Questions remain about Sharqi’s final decisions and defensive action, and there is a sense that those doubts have led to him being left on the bench more than once, by Peter Boss this season.
When Ryan played, he had an impact, as he scored 5 goals directly in 4 matches in the European League, while he scored 4 times in his first 3 matches with the France under-21 team.
The youngest player ever to appear in the Champions League knockout match, when he participated in the 2020 semi-final against Bayern Munich, and there is still a belief that Sharqi can come close to repeating Benzema’s career.
There is a growing feeling at the moment that he may need to leave Lyon in order to get off the ground like Benzema did, but no matter how that happens, Cherki is capable of delivering his potential and it will be great news for all those who love beautiful football.
5 Harvey Elliott | Liverpool and England
With the start of the 2021-2022 season, it was expected that Harvey Elliott would play an increasing role within Liverpool’s first team, and that his opportunities would come from the bench.
Jurgen Klopp appears to have different ideas about the 18-year-old, having been named to Liverpool’s starting line-up 3 times, in his first 4 games of the season.
In all likelihood, Elliott would have become a key player in recent months, had he not broken his ankle during September, which kept him out of action for about 5 months, but he returned and participated from time to time in the formation of the team, scoring his first goals in early February.
The youngest player in Premier League history, Elliott joined Liverpool from Fulham in the summer of 2019, but his talent did not start to show until he loaned him to Blackburn Rovers in 2021-2020.
Elliott was able to contribute 19 goals, while playing as a winger, despite being transferred to the midfield by Klopp, since he returned to Merseyside.
It’s a position Elliott seems to like too, with his recent performances prompting several critics to press for him to be rewarded with a call-up to the England squad, ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
4 Jamal Musyala | Bayern Munich and Germany
When Jamal Musiala left Chelsea to join Bayern Munich in the summer of 2019, he was an unknown young international, and his lack of physical fitness meant he was just a few years away from making a first-team lead.
But over the past two and a half seasons, the 19-year-old has developed into a key player in the Bundesliga champions, breaking several records, while also earning a regular spot in the German national team.
The youngest player in Bayern’s history in the league at the time of his appearance before the end of the 2019-20 season, Musyala impressed many with his confidence, speed and ability to make smart decision-making, which made him a potential heir to Thomas Muller at the Allianz Arena.
However, there is talk that Julian Nagelsmann may be looking to bring Musyala back into a deeper midfield role, believing that his control and passing ability are the perfect combination, as he aims to find a new No6 in the Bayern side.
Regardless of his position, it appears that Musyala, who spent time in the Southampton academy before joining Chelsea at the age of eight, will continue to make his mark in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
3 Jaffe | Barcelona and Spain
Shooting are also well above-average for someone of his age.
He and team-mate Pedri are now being spoken about as being ‘the new Xavi and Iniesta’ for both Barcelona and Spain, and there is no reason to think that may not come to pass given the time both still have on their side. Luis Enrique was choosing his Spanish team for the Nations League finals in October, and we found the first result in a Google search for the word “Javi”, an acronym for the “Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization”, which has nothing to do with football!
A result that perhaps reflects the times we are living in, but is also a sign of how little Barcelona midfielder Gavi has been talked about outside Catalonia and the football scout community.
But the 17-year-old was not only picked up in the La Roja squad, he also started the “eighth and ninth matches of his professional career”, including the final, to highlight what was the legendary rise of one of La Masia’s jewels.
Jaffe’s talent has been talked about in a quiet tone around the Camp Nou for a few years, but even the most optimistic fans didn’t expect him to become a regular first-team member so soon.
Distinguished first touch, smart play and great confidence are Jaffe’s main strengths, even though his passing and shooting are well above average for someone his age.
Now Jaffe and teammate Pedri are being talked about as the ‘new Xavi and Iniesta’ for both Barcelona and Spain, and there is no reason to believe they might not meet those expectations given the time remaining for both of them.
2 Florian Wirtz | Bayer Leverkusen and Germany
After Bayer Leverkusen sold Kai Havertz to Chelsea, his management could have invested the money they received, amounting to 85 million euros, to obtain a replacement for him.
Instead, the German team looked to the youth ranks and introduced Florian Wirtz to the starting line-up, saving a large sum of money, while discovering a player who could be better than the one who left.
Leverkusen beat Liverpool, signing Vertz from FC Cologne in January 2020, and after making his debut 4 months later, soon became the youngest goalscorer in Bundesliga history in the final weeks of that season.
After that, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder continued to enjoy the 2020-2021 season, scoring 16 direct goals in all competitions.
This season though, Ferns has already lost that number, and has declared himself one of the most effective attacking players in Europe, capable of scoring goals and assists, at an exceptional rate for a player of his age.
Already a full international player in Germany, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are credited with Wirtz, who looks set to be sold for more than Haverz for the next few years.
1 Jude Bellingham | Borussia Dortmund and England
While English football has been making a tumultuous trade when it comes to producing quality No.10 wingspans lately, the Three Lions have been crying out for a true box-to-box midfielder, Gareth Southgate and his successors can build their squad around him for 15 general.
The 18-year-old has emerged as the best young midfielder on the planet since joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020, with Bellingham setting the tone for matches at the highest level in European football.
Fans of rival clubs laughed when Birmingham City withheld the number 22 shirt of their youngest player after he left for Germany, but those same fans now understand why the uproar.
With precise control that could kill any player, and the confidence of a veteran title winner, Bellingham has all the capabilities that any modern coach would want, especially given his goals and numbers that have skyrocketed this season.
Manchester United have already tried to get his signature once, but are unlikely to give it up easily, while Liverpool and Chelsea will also be in the running when Bellingham finally leaves Signal Aduna Park, as the latest top-tier talent, to cash in on the best players. young people in Europe.
Regardless of his next destination, there is no doubt that Bellingham is one that will remain at the forefront of European and world football for years and years.
